FINEST ARE CHAMPIONS AGAIN!

The Finest win the 2009 American League Chicago Central Suburban League Championship!

Here is the write from the Championship game.

The Final game of the 2009 American League saw the top two seeds play for the Championship. The Finest entered this game undefeated in the playoffs and saved their ace, Henry Delvalle, for the Championship. Delvalle responded by pitching a complete game four hitter and struck out five. Delvalle also went 2-2 at the plate with 2 doubles to earn the game MVP honors.

The Finest scored in the first on a RBI single from Anderson that scored Acevedo. The Finest added 2 runs in the third on a clutch 2 out hit by Ricken that scored Lamberg and Pettis. In the fourth, Pitrowski scored Delvalle on a rbi single to increase the Finest lead to 4 - 0. The Bambinos scored on a sacrifice fly by Klimnick to make it a 4 -1 game. The Finest then score 3 runs in the 6th with the big blow coming on a pinch hit 2 out single by Christian that scored Delvalle and Pitrowski increasing the Finest lead to 7 - 1. Moutene hits a solo homer to make it 7 - 2 and Delvalle gets a ground ball to end the game and win the Championship for the Finest.

Acevedo (2 BB's), Anderson (rbi), Ricken (2 rbi's), Devalle (2 2b's, 2 runs), Pitrowski (hit, run, rbi), Lamberg (hit, run, rbi) Pettis (2b), and Christian (2 rbi's) led the Finest offense.

The Finest closed out the 2009 season winning their last 18 games that they played including all five playoffs games (which four games were played in one weekend). The Finest finished their championship season with 25 wins and 3 loses with one tie.

Thanks to all the players who made another championship possible!
